(Chattanooga, Tennessee)Employees at North American Credit Services, Inc. (NACS), a local full service collection, Skiptracing
and Receivables Management agency, helped support consumer education throughout the month of April during National Collectors
Challenge Month, a campaign benefiting the ACA International Education Foundation.
Each year throughout the month of April, members of ACA International, the Association of Credit and Collection Professionals (ACA),
raise funds to promote the associations financial literacy efforts. Our employees know better than anyone the challenge consumers
face in managing their personal finances, so this is the ideal way for us to give back in our community, said Dallas S. Bunton, SR,
IFCCE, MCE; Chairman of NACS and Medical Services of Chattanooga. Helping the people we contact learn the skills they need to
use credit wisely and regain control of their finances gives us pride in the important work we do.
Our local 2009 employee campaign raised $1,000 which was then matched two-to-one by NACS, Inc. for a total contribution of $3,000
to benefit community-based financial literacy programs. Our employees were provided numerous fun opportunities to become involved
and to help make a difference in this crucial cause, especially during these current hard economic times were facing together as a
nation, stated Bunton. Employee activities included: opportunities to purchase casual dress-down day tickets, chance drawing raffle
items and the always popular Collectors Challenge Cookout with an onsite bar-b-que; all proceeds benefiting the ACA Foundation.
The money raised will allow the ACA International Education Foundation to expand its financial literacy programs, such as providing
free electronic Community Education Kits on consumer rights and money management basics, the Receivables Management Training
Program giving persons with disabilities access to employment in the accounts receivable field, the Foundations annual consumer
outreach campaign, National Credit Education Week, and the Foundations latest initiative, the Personal Financial Management Web
Coursea free online money management training program available to consumers as a public service. Money to fund these important
projects comes from donations by ACA International members and friends.
